Cruise the Harbor
Cruise the Harbor
The historic Westport Marina offers many hours and days of exploration. The Maritime Museum houses the historical relics of over 100 years on the sea. The Destruction Island Lighthouse Lens is on display in a building custom built to house the Fresnel Lens from the decommissioned Lighthouse. Stroll the esplanade and visit the many shops offering a wide variety from seashells to art, ice cream to kites. Fresh Seafood tops everyones list of "must buys" at the marina. Schedule a charter trip for Salmon, Cod, Albacore Tuna or Halibut... or rent a peddle boat and cruise the inner harbor in search of seals and sea lions. Crabbing is popular off the docks and in september and october coho salmon can be landed right inside the harbor! Climb the observation tower and view the mouth of Grays Harbor where Capt Robert Gray entered to discover this area long ago. View surfers, ships, pelicans and more. The northerly end of our 2.5 mile oceanfront hiking and biking path meets the marina here. This paved trail is great for a stroll or roll with benches and viewing platforms along the way and starting at the marina it front halfmoon bay then the beach and ends at the Lighthouse!

At the north end of the marina... around the corner from the Islander is Float 20. Walk out 20 along the elevated boardwalk to the outer seawall. Watch the sun rise behind Mt Ranier... watch the Brown Pelicans move from the roost to the sea... catch fish off the platforms, crab off the dock or just get lost in the maritime surroundings. A pleasant stroll from sunrise to sunset and beyond. Look for the sea lions on the finger piers along the way and in this sunrise picture!

Tall Ships
Tall Ships
The "Lady Washington" home ports in Grays Harbor and comes and goes at the Westport Marina throughout the year. Often accompanied by the Hawaiian Chieftain... these beautiful vessels offer dockside tours as well as sailing cruises with mock cannon battles. Check the link to see when these ships will come home next!
